Boarding Requirements

Dogs

Vaccinations

Burleson Pet Resort & Oasis requires all furry guests to be current with vaccinations. This helps keep our resort staff and guests safe and healthy. This includes:

  • Rabies
  • Bordetella
  • DH2PP (distemper and parvo)

Though not required, we highly encourage that your dog be vaccinated for Canine Influenza.

Not current on vaccinations? We recommend that you make an appointment with your veterinarian at least two weeks before bringing your dog to stay with us. This helps ensure that the vaccines are in your pet’s system and working to prevent any illness during their stay.

Flea Preventative

All canine guests of Burleson Pet Resort & Oasis that are not currently on a monthly prescription flea-preventative receive a Capstar flea treatment* ($5 fee applies).

*Capstar is a safe and proven treatment that kills fleas within 30 minutes of application and can be combined with a monthly preventative such as Advantage, Advantage Multi, Frontline, Revolution, and Trifexis. If your pet is on one of these monthly preventatives, and you have proof via a current prescription or veterinarian receipt, we will waive the fee for Capstar.

Parasite Evaluation

To keep our staff safe and our other canine guests that reside and share the play yard free from internal parasites such as tapeworm, hookworm, whipworm, or giardia, we require an annual negative internal parasite evaluation. If we suspect that your dog has parasites, we will treat him at the hospital (fees apply).

Socialization

We have a well-trained resort staff prepared to handle any situation with your pet. However, we do require that your pet be well socialized with people. New guests are not required to come in for a behavioral test, but we do recommend that pets that have never been socialized, as well as those with previous aggression issues, come in for a meet and greet. If we cannot handle your pet at that time due to aggressive behaviors we will not be able to have them as a guest.

Cats

Vaccinations

Current vaccinations are a must for all cats staying at Burleson Pet Resort & Oasis, including:

  • Rabies
  • FVRCP

Cats can experience high stress when they are outside of familiar surroundings. Therefore, our feline guests reside in a private area at our hospital, Burleson Animal Emergency Hospital, away from the noise of our canine guests. However, we do ask that your cat be accustomed to being handled frequently. We do not require cats to have a meet and greet as just the trip alone can be very stressful for them.
